Sports Specific Training
Sports Specific Training at Sports Medicine Associates is the enhancement of athletic performance for recreational, amateur and elite athletes with a particular emphasis on their specific sporting endeavors.
Imagine yourself running faster, jumping higher or having power you never thought possible. How would it feel to return to your sport after an off-season of proper training and preparation to finally beat your old nemesis? Sports Specific Training offers the means to accomplish these and other goals by focusing on the particular needs of a specific activity or sport. The usual hard work regimen is required, but emphasis is also placed on education, proper nutrition, and overall health issues to make sure you are properly prepared for sports and life. What programs are offered?
We offer five Sports Specific Training Programs: Strength and Power, Speed Training, ACL Injury Prevention, Youth Development and Individual Design. To learn more about these programs, use the menu at top left.How can Sports Specific Training help you?
By working with the Sports Medicine Associates (SMA) trainers and exercise specialists in one-on-one or in group-arranged sessions you will focus on athletic development through proper training, education and nutrition. You will be taught proper form and techniques to reduce the risk of injury while on the playing field.In the Youth Development Program the emphasis is to properly advance the development of growing bones and tissues with proper technique to avoid injury. The focus is to create a defined program that allows you to do more for your game.
Individuals who have completed their formal physical therapy program and want to continue working to improve their level of fitness and participate in an active lifestyle or athletic event can also utilize Sports Specific Training.
